Sessions |
| Each session of El Casal includes a little over three months of learning and living in Barcelona through a program which combines travel, service in the community, cultural activities, language study and other seminars. Each session also includes the Camino de Santiago trek, about nine days duration. The Fall session usually begins in the second week of September and ends around December 18th. The Winter-Spring session begins around February 1st and ends around May 10th. For specific dates, contact us. El Casal spring extensionSome participants enrolled in the fall session may want to spend a full year in Barcelona. For them, El Casal offers a less-structured program with the opportunity to pursue an individual project chosen, researched and developed by the student according to individual interests. Projects might involve the fine arts or performing arts, history, sociology or literary studies, though the possibilities are almost limitless. Projects will be presented in May. At the same time, students may continue with the Spanish Language and Spanish Film courses. They may also continue with their internships or community service activities, or choose new ones.
